"My name is Sean Banning and I started training with Craig 8 months ago. My typical workout schedule is four days a week. Three days are strength training and one day of HIIT. Craig changes the workouts every four weeks to keep things interesting. I find the exercises we do to be very challenging and personally rewarding. "I love the personal attention that I am given at the Tolland location. I have been going there for 2 years now and the trainers, Julienne and Craig are great. I usually go to Julienne and she designs a new program for me every month. Juliene knows what is best for me, but Craig always knows exactly what I am doing as well, so he's ready for me when I go to him. "Shortly after becoming a member of the Star Hill Family Athletic Center last fall my wife and I were introduced to our trainer, Craig Toulouse. Initially I was very hesitant to sign up for a personal trainer but my wife was persistent and we began our training sessions with Craig in October. Being in our early to mid 50’s our goals were to strengthen our core, lose body fat and increase our energy levels. Over the past 6 months, both my wife and I have dropped inches, strengthened our core muscle group, reduced our weight and greatly increased our energy. Without the help of Craig, I’m sure we may have had some success, but with his help I am very confident that he has allowed us to do so much more with the confidence we are getting everything out of each 30 minute workout. "I have been training with Juliene Anderson since December 19th, 2012. I was 61 years old when we started and weighed 134 lbs. I was quite weak and had been experiencing a lot of back pain (due to scoliosis) and also had experienced several falls due to being off balance.
Juliene was very patient with me. We started off with reasonable weight and movement exercises. I also was going to a chiropractor 2-3 times a week to try to eleviate the chronic back pain.
Today, I work out with Juliene twice a week. My back pain has been under control. I am on a high protein and low carb diet. I am down to 116lbs and due to the core strengthening excercises that we have been working on for all these months my balance has improved dramatically. I do not go to the chiropractor any more.
Although there is an age difference, Juliene has been a lot of fun to work with, is an excellent trainer and I now consider her a friend….." -Ilene W.
"I have been training at Accelerated Fitness in Glastonbury for three months now, and I have lost 35 pounds. The workouts are challenging and fun at the same time. "I have been working out with Craig for 7 months now. My starting goal was to pass a fitness test that I had coming up. Craig worked with me and designed my workouts to increase my stamina so I would be able to pass the test. We gradually shortened my break times between sets and soon it became very easy for me to complete the fitness test without tiring.
Craig identified that my form was incorrect during exercises that lead to pain in my knees and lower back. Craig has worked with me to correct my form and I am now pain free. He worked with me on my running form as well. I had been running incorrectly and not in a fluid motion. After numerous workouts, he corrected my form and now there is less impact on my knees and I have increased my mile and a half time. Craig always pushes me to work out harder than I would if working out alone, but always making sure I am working out correctly so as to not injure myself.
